Say it. Say it BIG!

Consumers are exposed to hundreds if not 1000s of messages (if you count every logo’d vehicle, license plate frame, billboard, radio commercial, etc) per day. To stand out in this tedium of messages you need to make your presence known. In other words, if you’re going to say it. Say it BIG!

Take for example the instance of a consumer walking up to a store front. On the door of that business are flyers promoting their products and upcoming related events. Are you going to stand there and read all those flyers – probably not!

Which message on that door is going to stand out? The extra-large, full colour poster with large type. Heck you might even catch the key point just by walking in the door without actually stopping to read it. Better yet, that key point that flew through your vision made you stop to read the whole poster. Now that is advertising at its best. It caught your attention. Made you stop and read it! Next step take action on the message. Now that one we can’t guarantee, but at least the message was read!

So how large is large? Most business post flyers and mini posters – 8 1/2 x 11 – the size they can print themselves in-house. Sometimes you’ll see 8 1/2 x 14, and now and then 11 x 17.. However with today’s technology, many printers and sign shops can print full colour posters virtually any shape and size, quite economically. Take our store for example – we currently have a promotion on posters $15 for a 18 x 24 and $20 for a 24 x 30 poster. (Visit our facebook fan page to take advantage of this offer – extended one more week) Now those will stand out on that store front window!

Next step – what to advertise? Just keep in mind – you want your message read from a distance. Don’t write a book just because you have lots of space. Big, bold letters to draw attention! A catchy line that makes people want to come closer to get the rest of the details! Oh and watch how you use the colours as well. While certain colours seem bright and visible – they really are not. Example: red letters on black background or vice versa. Red and black look great together, but from a distance they blend together.

Now are you ready to say it BIG?
